All-original preowned 1988 Rolex Day-Date 36 18348 with factory Rolex diamond dial and bezel. All of the photos in this listing are of the actual watch being sold and accurately reflect how this watch looks in person. This watch is in stock and available for immediate pickup or delivery. In person viewings available by appointment. Serial number intentionally obscured in photos when visible.

COSMETIC CONDITION: This is truly an excellent example of a rare Rolex reference, a 18348, a reference number denoting a factory diamond dial as opposed to a 18238 which was manufactured with a fluted gold bezel.  Our assumption is that this watch was serviced by Rolex during their 2015 service of it but we did not polish it and there really is no evidence that it has ever been polished before. Rolex’s has relaxed their policy regarding polishing whereas they previously polished anything they had for service but, more recently have given the customer the opportunity to opt-out of polishing, especially with precious metal and vintage watches. The edges of its case are still crisp and sharp, its hallmarks are all perfect and legible. There is hardly any sag present between the links of the bracelet with no wear/stretch/gaps to the bracelet’s interconnecting pins and no pins are bent or exposed. The clasp’s crown logo still retains its original contours and has not been worn down or flattened out. This watch has developed a stunning, deep gold patina. There are no chips or scratches on its original sapphire crystal.

ACCESSORIES: This watch includes its original Rolex box with outer box shell and service papers issued by Rolex during their 2015 service of this timepiece. Insurance providers often require an insurance appraisal to add a watch to a new or existing insurance policy.

BANK WIRE: For the best price, select Pay by Bank Wire. From the shopping cart, you will place a $100 deposit. The watch will then be marked as RESERVED preventing its purchase by others and allowing you 72 hours to pay the balance via bank wire. The $100 deposit is non-refundable but it is applied to the purchase price of the watch. So a $5,000 watch for which a $100 deposit has been made, has a balance due by bank wire of $4,900. After submitting the $100 deposit, you’ll receive a receipt by email that includes all of our bank wire details.

CREDIT CARD: For those preferring payment by credit card, the fees charged by our merchant processor (around 3%), as well as the fee we pay to a 3rd party payment verification company (around 1%), have been added so that the net sale price of this watch remains the same regardless of your preferred payment method.

Preowned Timepieces: The purchase of any Preowned, Vintage, Neo-Vintage, or Mint condition watch can be returned for a full refund of the purchase price for up to 2 weeks from the date of delivery and/or in store pickup. The purpose of this 14-day return period isn’t so that you can wear the watch for a few weeks, rather, the purpose is to afford you the opportunity to try the watch on, to decide if you like it, and to even have it inspected by a local watch professional should you so choose. We fully expect to resell this watch for the same amount if returned. If this watch is returned to us in lesser condition (requires polishing or other repairs prior to being resold again), those expenses and/or the loss of value may be deducted from the refund. This includes any damage that may occur to the watch, its box, or its accessories in transit during return shipping to us. Return shipping to be provided by and paid for the purchaser.

New Timepieces: The sale of any Brand New watch is final, no returns are accepted.

FREE WITHIN THE UNITED STATES: The purchase of any item valued at less than $10,000 will ship via FedEx 2Day Air. The purchase of any item over $10,000 will ship FedEx NextDay Air. Per insurance requirements, packages valued at over $10,000 can’t be shipped over the weekend so any orders exceeding this amount for which payment is received and verified after 2:00 PM on a Thursday will be shipped out the following Monday. An adult signature is required for delivery.

$150 FLAT-RATE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We ship DHL Express which can arrive in as little as 2 business days, however, this is greatly determined by how quickly the package clears customs. You will be expected to pay any/all duties/taxes at the point of entry into your country before the package is released to you. Taxes vary by country, region, and address, so we won’t be able to provide you with an accurate estimate of your total tax liability, rather, you should research this for yourself in advance of any purchase.

Having primarily sold watches on 3rd party platforms like eBay and Chrono24, which collect and pay sales tax on a seller’s behalf, we haven’t yet hit the sales tax nexus (the threshold at which businesses are required to collect and pay sales tax to the state the purchaser resides in) for most states for watches sold directly through our website. This will eventually change but, for the time being, enjoy sales-tax-free purchasing on most orders shipped to any address outside of the state of California.
